No. 8 Florida looked to be in position to sweep the series against No. 19 Ole Miss. With the Gators’ offense unable to get any runs on the board during the first four innings, the contest was tied heading into the bottom of the fourth.
The glaring sun didn’t affect the Gators hailing from the Sunshine State as the team soared past the Rebels to pick up their second win in Oxford, Mississippi. No. 8 Florida faced No. 19 Ole Miss for game two of a three-game series.
For the No. 8 Florida Gators, pitching has been a struggle in their recent SEC and midweek contests. Friday remained no different, as Florida sophomore starting pitcher Keagan Rothrock gave up seven runs in four innings against the No. 19 Ole Miss Rebels.
Following a series loss to No. 10 Arkansas, the No. 6/8 Florida Gators bounced back with a run rule midweek win over the Stetson Hatters on Wednesday.
After an electrifying win, the No. 3/2 Florida Gators could not make it two-straight, as they dropped Sunday’s contest to the No. 12/13 Arkansas Razorbacks to lose the SEC series.
In a chaotic contest that featured an ejection and a 15+ minute play review, the No. 3/2 Florida Gators evened the SEC series against the No. 12/13 Arkansas Razorbacks, winning in electrifying fashion.
Following a midweek loss at No. 8/8 Florida State, the No. 3/2 Florida Gators dropped their second straight game, losing to the No. 12/13 Arkansas Razorbacks in the series opener on Friday.
Facing a three-run deficit in the fifth inning, the top of Florida’s order looked to give the team a spark. Freshman right fielder Taylor Shumaker lined a single to left field, and junior catcher Jocelyn Erickson walked to put two runners on to start the inning.
With one out, the bases loaded and her squad down by two, Florida first baseman Reagan Walsh laced a ball past the Tigers’ diving first baseman. Two runners – senior center fielder Kendra Falby and shortstop Rylee Holtorf – crossed home to tie the game.
After a month of action away from the diamond, 18 games and 14 wins, Florida starting pitcher Keagan Rothrock finally made her return to the circle on Saturday.
With homers from junior Kenleigh Cahalan and sophomore Mia Williams, Gators softball outlasted the Tigers, 11-7.
As they faced a 2-0 deficit, most of Wednesday evening had not gone in favor of the No. 4 Florida Gators. However, the UCF Knights delivered the final dagger in the bottom of the fifth inning. Coming into this contest 7-3 in its last 10 against the Knights, and undefeated since a 7-0 loss in Gainesville four years ago, this was unfamiliar territory for Florida.
The No. 4 Florida Gators’ offense came alive against the North Florida Ospreys on Thursday, as UF clinched its 19th run-rule win of 2025 in Jacksonville.
Despite continuing its midweek winning ways against in-state opponents, the No. 4 Florida Gators managed to defeat the Jacksonville University Dolphins, but struggled in doing so.
After getting swept in a doubleheader at home on Saturday by Texas, which clinched a series loss, Florida faced a gut check moment on Monday. Texas, a newcomer to the conference, looked to clinch the sweep in its first SEC series, which Florida did not allow to happen.
Despite winning a huge series against No. 5/4 Texas A&M last weekend, Saturday signaled UF’s first series loss of the season in a doubleheader against No. 2 Texas.
Following a gutsy, resilient series win over the No. 5/4 Texas A&M Aggies, the Gators continued their momentum with a home win over the UCF Knights.
With a full count and no outs, UF junior catcher Jocelyn Erickson saw a pitch she loved and launched it over 190 feet. The ball flew over the right field fence as Erickson jogged around the bases. All Texas A&M senior pitcher Emiley Kennedy could do was kick dirt and attempt to reset.
